dated and disappointing
tired bathroom excessive noise
the staff was quite courteous and helpful.
the room was tired, especially the bathroom. excessive noise came from the television and walking in the room above. the tv was on all night at high volume. thankfully i had earphones.

great options cooked choices damp smell freezing cold
the room had all the facilities needed. breakfast was included and had many options available. i had both cooked and continental choices.
the room was large, but it smelled damp. it was also freezing cold. i had to sleep with my clothes on because of the temperature.

classic stay
beautiful grounds classic decor
the grounds were beautiful. the interior design was classic with highland decor. the breakfast service was good and the staff were pleasant. there was a doggy bag available nearby, next to a disused railway line which is excellent for dog walking.
i noticed cobwebs in my room, and the window was broken. it would not close properly. i called services for around 30 minutes without an answer, so i had to sleep in a cold room that night.

my superior king room was spacious and clean. the bed was comfortable and provided a good night's sleep. i liked the traditional furnishings which complemented the building's character.

the setting was very quiet and peaceful. the hotel is set away from the main road. this provided a relaxing atmosphere with easy access to nearby walking trails. there was a scenic disused railway nearby.

breakfast offered a good selection. i enjoyed the main course and the excellent choice. the staff were attentive and helpful throughout the meal. the dining room was well kept and comfortable.
